The Fact Reporter Choi Hyun-jung Reports Article on ‘Coalition for Resolving the ADOR Conflict & Advancing K-pop’ Statement
A music industry insider told THE FACT, “People in the industry actually say, half-jokingly and half-seriously, ‘If NewJeans had been able to promote normally, they would have become one of the greatest girl groups of all time.’” The source added, “If NewJeans were to resume activities in any form right now, things could normalize faster than expected.”
Given the situation, those most anxious are NewJeans’ fans. Recently, 53 NewJeans fan communities released a statement under the name ‘Coalition for Resolving the ADOR Conflict & Advancing K-pop,’ calling for reconciliation between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, as well as the swift return of NewJeans.
In their statement, they demanded public apologies from HYBE, Min Hee-jin, and other parties involved along with measures to prevent recurrence, Min Hee-jin’s forfeiture of her put option payment, Min Hee-jin’s reinstatement as ADOR CEO, and sincere commitment to activities from both Min Hee-jin and NewJeans. However, these demands appear unlikely to be accepted anytime soon.
