HYBE Discloses ‘Other Group’ Information Hanni Did Not Mention via Article
I experienced something not long ago. The 4th floor of the HYBE building is where we get our hair and makeup done. So it’s a space where many other artists come and go, and many other staff members come and go as well.
So one day, I was waiting alone in the hallway, and some members of another group along with one of their managers passed by me. So we exchanged greetings with each other. But when they came back out a little later, that manager said “Ignore her.” Right in front of me. I could hear and see everything, and they said “Ignore her.”
But even now when I think about why I had to go through something like that, I don’t understand it and I find it truly absurd.
However, through HYBE’s position stated in this article, it was revealed for the first time that the manager who made the problematic remark was an “ILLIT” manager.
The decisive incident that broke the NewJeans members’ trust in HYBE was the ‘greeting controversy’ that occurred with a manager of the HYBE girl group ‘ILLIT.’ The incident dates back about three months to around June. At the time, it was right after former CEO Min had won her legal battle against HYBE. NewJeans member Hanni detailed the situation during a YouTube live broadcast on the evening of the 11th, saying “a manager of a HYBE artist told the members to ignore (me).” It appears she was referring to the situation that occurred with the ILLIT manager.
The NewJeans parents’ side, concerned about workplace ostracism, informed ADOR and HYBE management of the issue at the time and requested consultation for a smooth resolution. However, the conflict was never resolved as both sides had differing interpretations of the ‘greeting controversy.’ HYBE’s position was that after reviewing 7-8 minutes of CCTV footage capturing the situation at the time, scenes of Hanni and the ILLIT members exchanging greetings were captured, and no problematic elements were found, including the manager making the statement in question.
