Sexual Harassment Issue Emerges in NewJeans – PUBG Collaboration

Dear PUBG and NewJeans fans,

First, we would like to thank you for your enthusiastic support and interest in the collaboration between PUBG and NewJeans. We are very pleased to have this valuable opportunity to bring both brands closer to each other’s fans through this collaboration.

However, we have recently seen cases where some users have been creating and sharing inappropriate content using NewJeans characters. This does not align with the brand image and values of either party and is behavior that causes discomfort to all fans.

In response, KRAFTON and ADOR would like to make the following statement:

• In-game measures regarding NewJeans character wearable items: In the near future, we will be taking appropriate measures regarding wearable items that do not align with the purpose of this collaboration. Through this, we will create a healthier environment within the game and ensure that all users can enjoy the game safely. We will also provide detailed information about these measures soon.
• Compliance with Community Guidelines: All users must comply with PUBG’s Community Guidelines. These guidelines prohibit the posting of inappropriate content, and violations may result in restrictions on game access.
• Response measures: KRAFTON and ADOR take this situation very seriously and will actively respond to inappropriate content. Problematic posts will be deleted, and the users responsible may face restrictions on their community activities.
• Request for fan cooperation: We need the cooperation of our fans to maintain a healthy and positive community culture. If you discover inappropriate content, please report it immediately.

The purpose of this collaboration between our two companies was to combine our respective strengths to present new content and provide fans with a unique and enjoyable experience. Additionally, we began this collaboration based on prior agreements that the costumes would be created in accordance with the game’s age rating (15+) and would not exceed the level of typical idol stage outfits.

However, we acknowledge our shortcoming in not sufficiently anticipating the possibility that some users might inappropriately use existing in-game content in ways that could undermine the purpose of this collaboration.

ADOR, which holds the protection of artists and respect for the fandom as its top priority, and KRAFTON, which has a mission to provide users with innovative and enjoyable experiences through game content, have both reached a shared understanding that the protection of artists and a healthy, positive community culture must be our top priority. We would like to emphasize once again that we have always prioritized the protection of artists in our collaborations.

We value the community we build together with our fans. We sincerely apologize for this situation and will do our best to ensure that we do not disappoint our fans in the future through more thorough preparation and review.
