Team Bunnies Notice

🔗 2025-03-18 Team Bunnies Notice

Hello, this is Team Bunnies.

We would like to clarify the facts regarding articles published by Sports Donga (12th), Ten Asia (14th, 17th), and TV Daily (Sports Today, Celeb Media *media outlets at the same address, 14th) that appear to have been reported with the intention of undermining the credibility of the petition submitted by Team Bunnies.

1. Did the “NewJeans Fandom 30,000 Petition” Inflate Its Numbers?

The petition submitted by Team Bunnies included a signature list of approximately 30,000 people in total: approximately 10,000 domestic signatures through GloSign and approximately 20,000 global signatures through Google Form. The approximately 20,000 global signatures that were questioned for allegedly inflating the number of participants represent data from which approximately 10,000 incomplete entries—where name information was not properly filled in or was incomplete—were excluded from the 28,329 signatures actually submitted through the Google Form (Document 1). Additionally, the domestic signatures were collected through “GloSign,” a customized electronic contract service for public institutions, businesses, and individuals, in the same manner as the fandom petition submitted to Civil Settlement Division 50 in April. These signatures were submitted with authenticated information including names, emails, and phone numbers, along with unique contract IDs (Documents 2, 3).

2. “Prize Event Circumstances” Among Some Fans in the NewJeans Group Petition

Sports Donga reported at approximately 3:57 PM on the 12th that the petition “was carried out on the global SNS platform X (formerly Twitter) and domestic entertainment communities, led by ‘Team Bunnies,’ presumed to be one of the NewJeans fandoms” (Document 4). However, the event in question was conducted by a specific fan support team, not Team Bunnies, and Team Bunnies has never led or conducted any event. The number of participants in the event was approximately 130 (Document 5), and even if this is estimated at 2-3 times that number, it does not affect the approximately 30,000 total petition signatories. We subsequently communicated the facts to Sports Donga, and as of 5:54 PM on the 12th, the article’s headline and content were corrected.

This petition was not intended simply to showcase the size of the fandom, but to accurately convey and explain to the court the situation in which HYBE and ADOR continue to obstruct NJZ. The petition was prepared with consultation and review from entertainment law specialists, and as previously announced, it was submitted along with the Legal Advisory Opinion (Document 6), the full text of Team Bunnies statements, and the Seoul Yongsan Police Station criminal complaint investigation progress notification. In particular, the fact that only certain media outlets that have repeatedly published negative coverage about NJZ are taking issue with this petition suggests their intentions. We believe that the content of the petition and the related materials alone have sufficiently conveyed the fandom’s opinions and supporting evidence to the court.
