Team Bunnies Notice
🔗 2025-02-03 Team Bunnies Notice
Hello, this is Team Bunnies.
Thank you to all Bunnies who have waited for a long time. Please understand that the update on the interim progress was delayed because we personally organized all posts, consulted with lawyers, and filed them with the competent authorities at the most appropriate time to proceed with the criminal complaints more thoroughly.
Even after the first progress update, acts of spreading unverified facts, sexual harassment, and racial discrimination against NewJeans, as well as fabricating facts to defame and cause severe mental damage, have continued. Accordingly, based on the materials received through the malicious post reporting page, we have continuously proceeded with filing criminal complaints, and for most cases, excluding a very few, investigations have been lawfully initiated.
For all cases lawfully accepted, the competent police stations executed warrants to receive relevant information by platform (site), and as a result, the identities of the majority of the accused have been identified. Investigations are currently underway for the identified accused, and for those whose identities are still being identified, they are scheduled to be transferred to the police station having jurisdiction over their residence for full-scale investigation as soon as the procedures are completed. Even this morning (the 3rd), one of the accused contacted us expressing an intent to settle as soon as their identity was identified, but we made it clear that since the case has already been filed as a criminal complaint, a settlement itself is fundamentally impossible. Furthermore, we inform you that even if a settlement were possible, there will be no settlement.
In particular, this round of complaints includes users of platforms that were previously difficult to track, such as Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram, and we will share detailed information about the targeted users in the final update.
In addition, managers within Team Bunnies and dedicated lawyers are constantly monitoring platforms where malicious posts and comments are severe, such as DC Inside and FMKorea. We are currently still collecting malicious posts, and as matters requiring legal action have been confirmed, we plan to take immediate action on these within this month as well.
For the legal responses conducted so far, we have used approximately 32 million KRW out of the 50 million KRW raised, and approximately 17 million KRW remains. To achieve the most effective results with minimal cost using the precious money each of you contributed, we have handled most of the work personally where possible, and the lawyers have also cooperated actively. We are receiving many inquiries about additional fundraising, but we plan to cover any shortage on our own, so please do not worry too much. We will do our best to stop even one more malicious comment and the spread of rumors.
Meanwhile, the former agency ADOR has filed an application for an injunction to preserve agency status and prohibit the signing of advertising contracts against the NewJeans members. NewJeans lawfully terminated the exclusive contract last year citing ADOR’s breach of contract, and we express regret that ADOR has filed for an injunction without acknowledging this, despite the breakdown of trust as seen in the recent malicious media play. We hope that HYBE and ADOR will fight fairly in court, not through a war of public opinion, regarding facts of contract violation such as the leak of personal information, and we hope for a swift court decision that ADOR is no longer the members’ agency and cannot interfere with their activities.
HYBE-style media play, which is one of the factors in the breakdown of trust, is also crossing a line that should not be crossed even after contract termination. Some media outlets are illegally using personal information and indiscriminately reporting articles containing false facts without fact-checking procedures with both sides, and the act of quoting and re-spreading this is also at a serious level. Team Bunnies has been archiving all articles distributed by HYBE and specific media outlets since last April and creating our own analysis materials. We plan to deliver these, including the content reported to us so far, to the five members’ litigation representative law firm soon so they can be used as grounds for this injunction trial.
Regarding the spread of false facts known through the new account of the five members’ parents recently, we were able to receive various tips from reporters via the Team Bunnies email. We ask you to immediately stop acts of violence inflicted even upon the artists, who include minors, and their families by indiscriminately reporting false facts fabricated with malicious intent. Likewise, we ask HYBE and the current ADOR to stop acting as if they can cover the sky with their palms. Recently, we heard from reporters that the PR team leader, who was a party to the transcripts, is going around media outlets again engaging in the same activities as before. We urge you to stop the anachronistic obstruction of media and collusive business activities, as well as actions sabotaging the future path of artists who are no longer affiliated with you, and to adopt the attitude of a reasonable and rational professional.
Lastly, the reports from Bunnies are of great help. We ask you to actively report through the Malicious Post Reporting Center (https://report.teambunnies.info/) in the future as well, and Team Bunnies will do our best so that all five members can always shine without wavering.
Thank you.
