🔗 2024-11-29 Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein Official Statement (Full Text)
Hello, this is Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
As of November 29, 2024, the five of us are terminating our exclusive contract with ADOR and plan to continue our activities freely, breaking away from HYBE and ADOR.
As the agency that signed exclusive contracts with us, ADOR has the obligation to faithfully manage us for our interests. On November 13, 2024, the five of us made a final demand to ADOR to rectify violations of its obligations. Although the 14-day rectification period has passed, ADOR refused to make corrections, and none of the matters for which we requested rectification have been resolved.
Over the past few months, the five of us have made requests for rectification to ADOR several times. However, ADOR consistently responded with evasion and excuses. We clearly state that genuine communication based on mutual respect was not achieved because of ADOR.
In our demand for rectification, the five of us required specific actions from ADOR. However, ADOR took absolutely no action for rectification until business hours had passed, and considering the remaining rectification period, it became a situation where rectification was physically impossible. That is why the five of us urgently held a press conference yesterday; ADOR’s claim that we did not wait for their reply is nothing but wordplay.
Since ADOR violated its obligations under the exclusive contract and did not rectify them within the rectification period, the five of us hereby notify ADOR of the termination. This termination notice is in accordance with the exclusive contract, and the five of us personally signed the termination notice document. This notice takes effect immediately upon reaching ADOR on November 29, 2024. In other words, the exclusive contract has no effect from that point on. Therefore, there is no reason to apply for an injunction to terminate the exclusive contract, and we can freely continue our activities starting November 29, 2024.
Also, the five of us have faithfully fulfilled our obligations under the exclusive contract as artists of ADOR. Since the termination of the exclusive contract is solely due to ADOR’s violation of obligations, the five of us have no obligation to pay any penalty.
The five of us absolutely do not want to cause harm to others due to the termination of the exclusive contract. We plan to faithfully fulfill all contractual obligations signed between ADOR and others prior to the termination.
The decision of the five of us was made after long deliberation. The five of us can no longer remain with ADOR, which does not fulfill the basic obligation of protecting its artists, and maintaining the exclusive contract would only cause us severe mental distress. Thus, we reached the conclusion that we have no choice but to leave ADOR. Also, the five of us have been hurt and shocked by numerous media plays based on false facts. We hope such situations will not occur after the termination of the exclusive contract.
The five of us will continue to do our best to share good music with you. We would appreciate it if you could watch over and support our future.
