Regarding the ‘tampering-related remark (“It is not exactly the same, but I see NewJeans as an extension of this”)’ made during the Q&A session between Rep. Jin Jong-oh of the People Power Party and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yu In-chon during the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee audit on October 24, we immediately sent a letter of protest to Minister Yu In-chon and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on that day.

We received a reply from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism today and are sharing it as an attachment. They conveyed an apology for contributing to negative public opinion, acknowledging that although the remark made during the response stemmed from the intent that the industry’s self-regulation efforts are needed prior to legal regulations, it was an expression that could cause confusion.

We express our gratitude for the prompt reply and action, and we urge you to continue to closely scrutinize whether there are any violations regarding the various acts of misconduct committed by HYBE, as mentioned in the reply, and to review legal measures accordingly.
