Min Hee-jin Official Statement (Full Text)

🔗 2024-09-25 Min Hee-jin Official Statement (Full Text)

Hello.

This is Macoll Consulting Group, responsible for media communication along with Shin & Kim LLC, representing former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.

This morning, the ADOR Board of Directors resolved to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders with the agenda of reappointing former CEO Min Hee-jin as an Internal Director. However, since the appointment of an Internal Director is decided by the major shareholder, HYBE, it is unknown at this point whether former CEO Min Hee-jin will actually be reappointed.

Meanwhile, the ADOR Board claims that on the morning of September 11, they proposed that former CEO Min Hee-jin take charge of NewJeans’ production for the next five years. However, there was only mention of extending the contract period; there was absolutely no sincere proposal, such as removing numerous toxic clauses included in the draft, including the unilateral termination right. The expression “proposing a compromise” is merely wordplay.

Former CEO Min Hee-jin is wary that NewJeans’ normal artistic activities will not be guaranteed if only her term is extended under a flawed contract. Accordingly, she has clearly stated her intention to return as CEO and has requested specific contract details from HYBE that reflect sincerity corresponding to this. We feel great anger at their behavior of conducting media play before any negotiation, especially when there has been no agreement whatsoever regarding the parties, status, duration, or authority.

It was revealed this morning that HYBE has been engaging in media activities to disparage the achievements of its own artists. We suspect their ulterior motive: what are they trying to hide by urgently releasing a statement suddenly today, and are they trying to drive a wedge between former CEO Min Hee-jin and NewJeans? As you are well aware, HYBE has always initiated media play that defies common sense, and when the truth is revealed, they have always released another statement to cover it up.

The authority as CEO is a necessary demand to defend against various malpractices by HYBE, such as those exposed today, and is a right that must naturally be claimed given that there are absolutely no grounds for her dismissal from the CEO position.

We are very outraged at ADOR for inciting the public and public opinion through lies that will obviously be exposed repeatedly, and we feel nothing but regret for the harm this causes the artists. We hope the ADOR Board of Directors will show good faith by engaging in sincere negotiations before resorting to media play. Furthermore, we strongly demand the reinstatement of former CEO Min Hee-jin to the position of CEO to ensure the normal achievements of the artists.
