Min Hee-jin Official Statement
Amid the change of ADOR’s CEO from Min Hee-jin to Kim Ju-young, Min Hee-jin’s side released a statement claiming it was a “unilateral notification.”
On the 27th, an official from Min Hee-jin’s side told Maeil Business Newspaper’s Star Today, “On Saturday the 24th, we received a surprise notification that a board meeting would be held on the 27th regarding the change of CEO, and [Min Hee-jin] attended the board meeting by phone,” and claimed, “The resolution for dismissal was made unilaterally, regardless of Min Hee-jin’s will. This is a grave violation of the shareholders’ agreement.”
They added, “The company stated that CEO Min Hee-jin would continue producing NewJeans, but this is also a unilateral notification. There was no consultation.”
On this day, ADOR released an official statement stating, “On the 27th, we held a board meeting and appointed ADOR Internal Director Kim Ju-young as the new CEO. As a Human Resources (HR) expert with experience in various industries, new CEO Kim Ju-young will be responsible for stabilizing ADOR’s organization and internal reorganization.” They further added, “Former CEO Min Hee-jin will step down from the position of CEO but will retain her position as an internal director of ADOR. She will also continue to handle the producing duties for NewJeans.” Along with this, they announced that while the CEO had previously overseen both production and management, they would separate production and management following this personnel appointment and organizational reorganization.
Min Hee-jin is showing a sharp difference in position with HYBE regarding the allegations of usurpation of management rights. Both sides are currently proceeding with lawsuits on various fronts, including professional malpractice (breach of trust), obstruction of business, and defamation.
