HYBE Official Statement (Full Text) on the Email Regarding NewJeans Parents’ Opinion Letter
This is an announcement from HYBE.
We would like to provide an explanation regarding the email reported by a media outlet on the 13th, which was allegedly sent to us by NewJeans’ parents.
We received the email in question on April 3 and have already replied on April 16, stating that it was not plagiarism, among other points.
We also wish to state that the claim that the beginning of the ADOR incident “stemmed from mistreatment, such as ignoring greetings,” is a unilateral claim and is not true.
We find it very regrettable that CEO Min engages in the outdated practice of dragging artists and their families into her own battle for the sake of her own greed.
We have secured evidence that:
▲ The very act of sending an email attacking HYBE began as part of a plan for the takeover of management rights and the pursuit of personal profit; ▲ CEO Min suggested putting the parents in the forefront because if she raised the issue herself, it would be a violation of the shareholders’ agreement; ▲ The email allegedly sent by the parents was actually written by Vice President L*** and CEO Min, not the parents. We plan to submit this as evidence to investigative and judicial authorities.
We cannot help but deplore CEO Min Hee-jin’s behavior of using artists as shields and even putting their parents in the forefront for the pursuit of personal profit. We urge her once again to exercise restraint for the protection of the artists’ value, instead of trying to mislead public opinion.
