ADOR Announces ⌜Legal Action Status Regarding Infringement of Artist Rights⌟
Hello.
This is ADOR.
We would like to provide an update on our legal response to protect the rights and interests of NewJeans.
Since NewJeans’ debut, we have been continuously monitoring online communities, music streaming sites, and social media channels both domestically and internationally, promptly requesting the removal of posts that infringe upon the artists’ rights while taking strict legal action. We are taking an equally firm stance against overseas-based sites without exception.
Recently, however, we have determined that the severity of rights violations—including the spread of malicious fake news, invasion of privacy, and the use of insults and derogatory terms against the artists—has escalated significantly. Accordingly, we have deployed additional personnel to conduct intensive evidence collection. This month, we plan to file criminal complaints against individuals who have posted malicious content on online platforms including Naver News, DCInside, Instiz, Nate Pann, MLBPARK, and theqoo. Furthermore, depending on the results of additional evidence collection, we also plan to file supplementary complaints on an ad-hoc basis in the near future.
In addition, we are taking an especially strict stance against deepfake crimes. Recently, perpetrators of deepfake crimes have requested settlements, but we have refused and communicated our intention to seek severe punishment to the investigative authorities. Moreover, we are actively cooperating with investigative authorities to eradicate deepfake crimes targeting the artists.
Your interest and reports are of great help in our legal response efforts. We kindly ask for your active reporting of any infringement of artist rights through the ‘HYBE Artist Rights Protection Report Site (protect.hybecorp.com).’
We are always grateful for the love and dedication of our fans, and ADOR will continue to make every effort to protect the rights and interests of our artists.
Thank you.
