Min Hee-jin Resigns as ADOR Inside Director and Releases Statement

2024-11-20 ← Back to List

Hello. This is Min Hee-jin.

Today, I am resigning as an inside director of ADOR.

I am also terminating the shareholders’ agreement with HYBE and intend to hold HYBE legally accountable for their violations of the shareholders’ agreement.

Furthermore, I will proceed with all necessary legal actions one by one against the numerous illegal acts committed by HYBE and its associates.

Throughout this hellish dispute with HYBE that began with their illegal audit in April and has persisted for over seven months, I have done everything in my power to uphold the shareholders’ agreement and restore ADOR to its state before April. However, HYBE has refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing to this day and shows no signs of change, so I have concluded that further efforts would be a waste of time and made my decision.

I had hoped HYBE would acknowledge their own wrongdoing, and I worked tirelessly to protect NewJeans within this twisted organization. This is also why I sent two internal whistleblowing emails last April.

But far from reflecting on their actions, HYBE committed the unprecedented and foolish act of fabricating outrageous falsehoods and publicly parading their shameful illegal audit. They framed me, a minority shareholder and CEO, with the absurd label of “attempting to seize management control,” conducted a witch hunt, and launched ignorant and irrational attacks unbefitting of a major corporation.

After all manner of twists and turns, over seven long months have passed, and it has finally become clear that my whistleblowing was a legitimate complaint based on undeniable facts, while HYBE’s ugly lies and hypocrisy continue to be exposed one after another.

In truth, HYBE must have known from the very beginning that the contents of my whistleblowing were all true and that my concerns were legitimate.

But for those who care only about their own interests and advancement, “solving the problem” must have been the assignment they most wanted to avoid.

I never expected them to repent, but I now wonder if it was naive of me to believe they would have at least a bare minimum of conscience as human beings.

But just as merely having breath does not mean one is truly alive, I did not want to cling to money and ride along with this twisted organization in complacency.

Even until recently, HYBE has continued its hypocritical and contradictory behavior—using its subsidiary labels to bury me through reckless lawsuits, nitpicking, and unfair media manipulation, while simultaneously presenting a producer work delegation contract filled with toxic clauses as if extending tremendous goodwill.

While proposing to discuss roles and responsibilities, which is the essence of a work delegation contract, they made incomprehensible demands such as signing a non-disclosure agreement that included forensic consent requirements before any discussion, insisting only on in-person meetings, and repeatedly claiming they could not provide the R&R document.

It no longer surprises me that those who unilaterally dismissed me yet spread false information to the media claiming I had stepped down as CEO to take on producing duties would now demand “confidentiality” from others with such shamelessness.

The atrocities HYBE committed in 2024 will be recorded as unprecedented in K-pop history.

For the past seven months, I have poured everything I have—mentally, financially, and physically—fighting with all my strength to revive ADOR, which was destroyed by HYBE’s severe violations of the shareholders’ agreement.

This means I have made painstaking efforts without backing down, despite this being a hellish battle that began with the baseless violence of a group hiding behind the facade of a major corporation.

HYBE’s moral decay has already reached its peak, and their dirty media manipulation will continue, but I am not worried because even the public has now reached the point of reading their patterns.

Nevertheless, I declare that if there are any forces and media outlets engaging in baseless defamation, I will not stand idly by and will hold them accountable through the law.

This unprecedented incident is not yet over, but I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Bunnies and the many others who have sent unwavering support and encouragement for nearly half a year.

Ironically, it has also been a special fortune to have met the best people through this fight against the worst company.

Some may not understand why I have persevered to this extent, but there must be a reason and meaning for someone like me to exist in this world.

I hope you will take great interest in the new K-pop journey I will embark upon going forward.

With a relieved heart, I conclude this writing with a message to certain people.

“The malicious actions of one person should never be allowed to undermine the essence of this industry. It was truly reprehensible.”
