The Group Called ‘Post-BTS’
HYBE, the major Korean entertainment conglomerate that manages numerous K-pop artists including BTS, shows no signs of slowing down.
“In 2020, they listed on the Korea Exchange and at one point their stock market capitalization exceeded 1 trillion yen. They are now on an incomparable scale to the Japanese music industry.” (Entertainment reporter)
Currently, the artist HYBE is focusing on most is TOMORROW X TOGETHER (commonly known as TXT).
“BTS has suspended activities as the members are fulfilling their military service obligations. TXT is considered the post-BTS and has been actively working to gain popularity in the Japanese market.” (Same source as above)
Airfare and Luxury Hotels All Covered by HYBE
From July to September, they held a four-dome tour in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. What surprised Japanese music industry insiders was HYBE’s ‘big spending.’
“They invited nearly 100 people to Fukuoka Dome, including reporters from sports newspapers, magazines, and online media. Round-trip flights were JAL ‘Class J’ seats, and they arranged luxury hotels costing 50,000 to 70,000 yen per night. Meals were included, of course. However, when writing articles, they were clearly instructed on ‘phrases that must be included.’ As a result, all outlets published articles with similar content (laughs).” (Private broadcaster music program producer)
Rather than being delighted by the invitation, music industry insiders were stunned, feeling a sense of awe at HYBE’s momentum.
