On September 6, 2024, Mrs. Yuko Kishida, the spouse of Prime Minister Kishida who is visiting Korea together with him, visited the Korean company “HYBE” as an event hosted by the Korean side, accompanied by Mrs. Kim Keon-hee, First Lady of the Republic of Korea. The details are as follows.

1.Mrs. Kishida visited “HYBE” together with Mrs. Kim Keon-hee, First Lady of the Republic of Korea, and interacted with Japanese artists active in Korea as well as Japanese artists preparing for their debut. Afterward, she received an explanation from officials about the activities of the Korean music industry and observed the artists’ recording sessions and other activities.

2.Mrs. Kishida said, “I am very happy and proud that Japanese artists are active across borders. I believe that your daily efforts have captured the hearts of people in both Japan and Korea, and are strengthening the relationship between our two countries. I hope that the great power of music will help your efforts flourish even more.” Both ladies shared their expectations that artists from both Japan and Korea will continue to perform in Japan, Korea, and around the world, delivering music that moves people, while also further promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Korea in the future.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife Yuko, who visited Korea together with him, visited a domestic entertainment company on September 6 with First Lady Kim Keon-hee, wife of President Yoon Suk Yeol, to encourage idol trainees from both countries.
